Posted on February 20, 2019 by Paul Kemner

On May 19, from noon till 5, the largest Japanese festival in a several state area takes place at the Allen County Public Library, Fort Wayne , Indiana. It’s a 100-mile drive from Toledo- well worth it.

10,000 people attend

They’ve been holding it for eleven years, and have a stunning variety of activities. Musicians play traditional instruments, including a koto ensemble from Chicago. Kazume Mitzuki, a famous dancer, will be returning this year for another performance, along with folk dance groups.

There’s a full range of vendors selling anime DVDs and collectibles, along with craft items. Ohio Kimono will be there with a huge selection of new & used kimono & yukata to see and try on.

Musical performance, including Taiko drumming

Outside are Japanese food vendors, Taiko performances, a full range of kids activities including the goldfish catch you see in anime temple festivals, and cosplay and Karaoke contetsts.

And all of this is FREE to attend! Check out their site for more info.
